Today we switched off our lights and electrical devices around the entire school at lunch time.

Well done Ms Ternovy for inspiring us!

Young people today are immersed in digital technologies. They use the internet and mobile phones to socialise, study, exchange ideas and play. While online activity has many benefits, there are also risks.

To help your children stay safe online, Ultimo Public School is hosting a CYBERSMART OUTREACH —Internet Safety Awareness presentation. Designed for parents, teachers and students, please come along and take part in this presentation.

The Cybersmart Outreach—Internet Safety Awareness presentation is thorough and non-technical. It covers a range of issues including:

  • the ways children use the internet and emerging technologies
  • potential risks for children online, such as cyberbullying, identity theft, inappropriate contact and exposure to inappropriate content
  • tips to help children stay safe online

The presentation is conducted by an ACMA Cybersmart trainer and is free of charge.

Sydney East PSSA Swimming Championships

19 March 2014

On Wednesday evening the Ultimo Regional Swimming Team met at SOPAC, Homebush for an exciting night of racing.

Our junior girls relay team, consisting of Scarlett, Ainslee, Kyra and Yanchi gave it their best, finishing in a time of 2:58.63. It should be noted that this is the first time Ultimo PS has qualified to enter a relay team. Well done girls!

In individual races all Ultimo Public School representatives put metal to the pedal.

Ryotaro is to be commended for his gutsy swim in the 50m breaststroke, in which he broke a 22yr record, finishing in a time of 41.73. In addition, he placed 2nd in the 200 IM, no easy feat!

Taixin, Kevin and Scarlett competed against a strong field, finishing their races having given it all they had.

The school is very proud of our regional representatives and wish Ryotaro the very best of luck for the State Championships on the 9th & 10th of April at SOPAC.
